Earlier today, the Tonga underwater volcano erupted resulting in a shock wave traveling through the Pacific Ocean.
This resulted in unusually large waves in San Diego despite not having much wind.
Seagulls seem to enjoy this unprecedented event as they flew close the waves with relatively no wind.
Despite the dangerous high waves and warnings, some surfers still decided to seek the thrill of surfing the "tsunami" waves.
Even being this thousands of miles away from the eruption, the wave is still very high. Hopefully, the coastal cities that are affected more significantly by the eruption could quickly recover.
