This is not the last time we will see bisons.
On the 16th of December, we took an early flight from San Diego to Salt Lake City and started driving towards Yellowstone National Park after landing. Along the way, we stopped at Great Salt Lake State Park. Due to the recent couple years of drought, we were not able to see water. There was also quite heavy fog in the park.
We arrived at the park just after the dusk fell.

Because of the heavy snow fall, only special vehicles that are designed to drive on snow were allowed in the park.
Trumpeter swans often spend their winter in the park as they enjoy colder weathers.
Bison is a major part of the Yellowstone ecosystem. You can see them everywhere. They are also very accustomed to seeing humans around them all the time that they do not mind the visitors and all the snowcoaches.
Not a lot of scenaries are visible during winter in Yellowstone. However, the ones that you can see take on a very different appearance during winter.
Closing
Yellowstone National Park during the winter season is vastly different from that of summer. It was exciting to see a side of Yellowstone that is often overlooked by everyone.
